As a property rehabber, I’ve used many different ideas for getting a property in top shape. I have 15 for you today and I’ll have 15 more next week. I didn’t include any commentary on each of these, but contact me if you’d like some more specifics.
Some Tips for staging a home:
- Grimy bathroom walls are a major red flag to buyers.
- Don't replace a yucky shower door: Just scour it.
- Avoid dated tile by painting.
- Pedestal sinks are a big hit with buyers.
- A master bedroom should appeal to both sexes.
- Tone down an overpowering brick fireplace with paint?
- Updating an old fireplace screen is a cheap (and quick) fix.
- Turn an unattractive fireplace into a selling feature by cleaning it and highlighting it with colors.
- Stain dated kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them.
- Stainless-steel appliances are definitely in with buyers.
- Fill existing hardware holes instead of making new, unsightly ones.
- Save money on granite countertops. (Ask me how)
- New kitchen appliances bring high returns from sellers.
- Need to dress up a window but don't want to shell out big bucks for window treatments? Place-mats. ;-)
- Adding drama to old hardwood flooring is easier than you might think.
Until next time,
Andy
